What do you get your husband who says that he's ready to start working out again at the local gym? How about a Lunatik watch kit that turns a Apple Nano into a watch. He can now work out with his headphones connected to his watch, listening to his favorite tunes or even the radio. He's still getting use to it... I'm ready to "borrow" it.

Sneak Peek #2: My Lap Quilt
It's been a while since I offered Sneak Peek #1 of a lap quilt I'm making for myself. In the spirit of the Indianapolis Modern Quilt Guild, of which I've recently found myself a member, and its challenge to finish a project and bring it to the June gathering for show-and-tell, I offer Sneak Peek #2. I finished the quilting yesterday evening, and all that's left now is the binding.
Big Finish: Blush Baby Quilt
I made this baby quilt last summer intending to give it as a gift, but I didn't have a recipient in mind yet. I just liked the pattern (Charm Squares Baby Quilt from Oh Fransson!) and fabric collection (Blush by Basic Grey for Moda). A friend of mine offered to buy it to give as a gift to one of her expectant friends, but I declined because I liked this quilt so much and wanted to save it for someone special to me. (Instead of selling her this quilt, I made another one for her in the same pattern but with different fabrics.)
Turns out that same friend of mine is now expecting a little girl in August, so I decided it was time to give this quilt a new home. I embroidered the baby's name and the year on the back corner to personalize it. I hope Baby Stella likes it as much as her mom and I do!

Time for Mini Tarts
My friend Susannah and I spent a recent Sunday afternoon amusing ourselves with a set of mini tart pans (a Christmas gift from my lovely sister), a recipe for lemon-blackberry mini tarts, and one of my favorite movies, Amelie. The tarts were delicious, the movie was as fun and quirky as I remember, and I'm working on a list of more tasty tarts we can make in miniature.
